Finding free activities for children...

I'm always looking for free or cheap things to do with my little girl. She needs stimulation and to get out of the house but so many activities and places for kids cost an absolute fortune these days and it can quickly add up.

We spent all morning at the library which is about 10 minutes walk from our house. My daughter absolutely loves the library, they print out colouring pages especially for her, bless! There's lots of puzzles and of course a ton of books to read and take back home with us to read some more - the photo above shows a small selection of what we brought back home!

I couldn't believe it when one of my friends with a child of the same age said she had never taken him to a library, because we go there so often! There are always other children there too for her to chat to and a park on the way there so there's usually a visit to the park also. I believe reading with your children is so important, even better that libraries are free and there is no charge when children's books are late to be returned.

I also borrowed some cookbooks and have been perusing them for some more frugal recipes - watch this space! xx
