...so it feels! We went to the library today to return some books, I had one that was due back today and I wasn't going to get charged for it! So we took the books back and got some new ones. My daughter did some colouring there too and puzzles. I can't believe it when people say that they don't use the library, I love reading but would not pay for a book when there are hundreds in the library, they have new ones in all the time. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time for reading any more as I am so busy but I always read with my daughter and she loves it at the library.
I got some 'grown your own' books for some tips! I don't have a clue how to grow my own fruit and veggies as I've never tried so fingers crossed!
The sun is out again so the clothes are drying outside! That's our water butt behind it which I will use when growing my new vegetables. The sun makes my spirits lift, I'm still feeling optimistic with no money spent today and my daughter happy with new books and playing with her mum all day, which is her favourite thing to do! We made pizza for lunch, when my brother saw it he was inspired to go buy some flour and yeast to make pizza to take to work for lunch tomorrow!
I'm making a list of ways I can make extra money. I've cut back so much but to really make a dent in the debt I need more money coming in.
I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people, having children to look after makes it tough to add to work load. I remember when I was 18 I had a full time job and 3 times a week I would head straight off to work in the evening at a pub, to earn some extra cash. Can't do that now! So I'm brainstorming ways I can make extra money but fit around my daughter and everything I do currently. I already sell on eBay and Gumtree, going to do a car boot sale soon.
It's a challenge for sure! xx
The library saves me £1,000s every year! I have a friend who BUYS all the books she reads, they have no savings and low income and a library in the village which they don't use!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! That must add up to so much especially if bought brand new! Just makes no sense to me when there are so many in the library and they frequently have new ones xx
DeleteYou write a good blog, have you considered writing for some of the weekly magazines. I don't read these mags myself but when I was in a writers' group some of the members earned themselves as much as £25 for a reader's 'tips' letter on matters of frugality. Just a thought. Of course, you have to buy the magazines first, but you could always stand and just look at them in W H Smith and then note down the address/email to which you need to send such letters.

Thank-you Margaret that's very kind of you! Really...which magazines do you know? I never buy magazines so wouldn't have a clue! That's a good tip for anyone else as well, why don't you give it a go too :-) xx
