Frugal food shopping in the sunshine

The sun is shining today! It's absolutely beautiful here. We went to the park this morning and then did our fortnightly food shopping. I didn't need to get much meat as my freezer is stocked up, so I was expecting it to be a little less but still almost fell over with delight when the checkout girl said £47.16 please!

That included a couple of extras that hubs and daughter put in the trolley again! I can't do it without them though because I get my husband to take me in his car, I already did one big shop there and had to walk back which was exhausting, it's about a 45 minute walk which is not fun with a 4 year old and a load of heavy bags.
I had left £90 to the side for this food budget, so I came in well under. This will go towards a debt repayment which makes me very happy!
This afternoon has been spent doing another coat of paint in the kitchen area, it was magnolia before but I've changed it to white to brighten it up a bit with leftover paint from the garage.

Today has been a successful frugal day...coming under budget for food shopping but still managing to buy lots of healthy food (and a packet of courgette seeds, am I sad to be excited about growing my own vegetables?!!), brightening up a room without spending money on paint, sitting here with a cup of tea made using a tea bag that had already made a tea and milk that I had watered down. It's been a really relaxing weekend which has been so peaceful.

I'm feeling happy and positive...this debt WILL be gone and I am determined to get rid of it, and enjoy the little things in life xx
