Stopping money from going down the drain...

As the water bill is one that I should be able to reduce, I've been taking an intense interest in our water consumption.
As soon as you start thinking about saving water, it's crazy to see how much you would just literally pour down the drain. My daughter had a bath and I would usually just let the plug out and let the water drain away. Not any more! I scooped out some to flush the toilet with, then scooped out some more and put it to the side for flushing the toilet next time. Then put some of hubs golf trousers in the bath which were caked in mud. I had put them in the washing machine but having no joy getting all the mud stains off. So I put the trousers in the bath to soak and I can see the mud coming off.

I've previously left the tap running when doing the washing up but now fill up the sink and wash that way. Hubs is usually pretty bad at leaving the tap running when brushing his teeth but he's been getting better, and he rinses his mouth out after brushing a lot too but I've managed to convince him not to by telling him something I saw written by a dentist saying that it's best not to swill your mouth after brushing because if you don't the toothpaste doesn't continue to work on the bacteria.
Our rainwater tank should hopefully be saving us water too because it's been raining a lot here lately. Very sunny today though, the washing is outside drying.

When I made the roast dinner I put brownies in the oven to save on energy costs. They were really simple to make.
Nutella (I used Morrisons savers hazelnut spread - 80p)
2 eggs
65g plain flour
Mix it all together, pour into a baking tray and bake for 180C for 30 minutes.
I used the paper cover that is inside the butter to grease the baking tray xx
